Fast times at Harwich
The second Harwich 5K saw ideal conditions and some great performances all round, with club records and personal bests for Laura Shewbridge and Helen Ivory, plus personal bests for four other club runners. Laura’s time of 19:11 took six seconds off the previous record and ranks as the eighth fastest all-time run for a lady at the Harwich 5K series. Helen’s run of 23:19 improved the club F50 record by 21 seconds and was over a minute faster than her time in the previous Harwich race. James Haskey-Jones was first home for the club with a personal best of 18:13, followed by Paul Dellar making his club debut at the distance in 18:50, a great result following a serious injury in the autumn. Simon Morgan ran 12 seconds faster than his previous Harwich race with a time of 19:09, while Jamie Fairfull broke through the 20 minute barrier with his third personal best of the month, running 19:50 to take more than 30 seconds off his previous best.
