Tiptree's team prize at Mersea

James secured a superb fourth place in the Mersea Round the Island race, leading the club to the men’s team prize and placing first in the V40 category. His time of 1:21:05 was faster than last year on the 13 mile multi-terrain course which takes in sea walls, beaches and stretches of footpath. Simon Morgan ran 1:29:24 to take a top twenty place, despite taking a wrong turning when he was in the top ten. Mersea resident Simon Haines, in his first race for some time, completed the winning team with a run of 1:35:30. Martin, following up a very hot race in the Edinburgh, ran 1:37:50 followed by Malcolm in 1:40, and Anthony in 1:47:28. Carolyn and Baz finished in 1:52:00 followed by Tina and Ian in 1:56:00, with all recording their faster times for the event. Dawn finished in 2:09:06 in her debut at the event.
