Weekend results 20th November
The Hadleigh 10 mile road race saw another set of excellent results for Tiptree Road Runners with four personal bests and a club record on a tough hilly course in foggy conditions. James Haskey-Jones showed remarkable consistency to repeat his 22nd place at the previous week’s Stebbing 10 with a run of 63:33. Stuart Meddeman took 30 seconds off his previous best with a run of 71:04. Tracy Harrington took almost 2 minutes off her week-old club F45 record with a personal best of 73:16, helped by strong pacemaking from Phill Clarke in the same time. Mark Lawes also set a personal best, improving his week-old mark by over a minute in 73:32. Jim Slater finished in 78:07, followed by Matt Davey making his club 10 mile debut in 79:24 and Graeme Moon in 79:26. Pete Fuller improved his personal best by one and a half minutes in 82:24, with Tina Clarke and Carolyn Bownes completing the Tiptree line-up in 90:24.
In the first race of the Three Blind Mice nightime trail series, Sean Ketteridge was first home for the club in 19th place with a run of 55.54. Phil and Tina Clarke, Carolyn Bownes and Jim Slater finished in 1.01.02 with another group consisting of Peter Bouldstridge, Paul Shewbridge and Mark Lawes just behind in 1.01.04. Simon Morgan and Debra James finished in 1.10.20.
The third Essex League race was held over the tough hilly Hadleigh Downs course in unseasonably warm conditions. Simon Morgan finished 118th withTed Skinner in 128th.
Anthony and Vicky Knight took part in an extreme event at Bures, running the 12 kilometres Guts and Glory race through an old gravel pit that featured bogs, water, mud and hills. They finished in 1:26.
At the Mid-Essex league at Notley Park, Roger Duffield finished in 90th place.
