Tiptree secure second at Hadleigh

Conditions for the final 53-12 fixture at Hadleigh were probably the worst of the season with heavy rain and strong winds adding to a hilly, muddy course. James Haskey-Jones made light of the conditions to recorded his fourth successive top twenty finish in the league with an excellent 17th place. Kevin Bownes had his best run of the season to come home as second scorer in 40th position, with Phill Clarke 59th and Paul Dellar 64th completing the scoring team. Mark Brewer regaining his racing confidence after serious injury, moved up more than thirty places to finish 72nd, followed by a group of three in close order - Matt Davey 78th, Jim Slater 81st and Rob Hadgraft 82nd. Graham Moon in 91st place and Malcolm Bailey in 100th completed the Tiptree men’s team. Carolyn Bownes in 34th place and Tina Clarke in 35th gave their usual great club support.

Tiptree’s men were second equal on the day, with the ladies third. The club finished second on the day and finished the season as runners-up in Pool B.
